Phuket now offers a number of Thai cooking /schools classes to meet this booming demand.

Around the island woks are heating up, cleavers are being sharpened and an array of familiar and unfamiliar vegetables and spices are displayed to a determined but often bewildered audience. For the Boathouse Cookbook Executive Chef Tamanoon has taken some of the more familiar Thai dishes and added his own personal touch to the recipes in this famous restaurant’s collection.

Cookery class options range from learning in the private setting of someone’s home – Pat’s Home Thai Cooking Classes – to the full restaurant kitchens at the Boathouse and the Old Siam Restaurant. In every course the best part is the final examination. That’s when you get to sit down and taste what you’ve just spent the last few hours learning how to make. Each class supplies recipes to take with you.
